LIBERTY Primary Steel flew the flag for Australian-manufactured steel sleepers and rail products at the recent AusRAIL PLUS 2019 event at Sydney’s International Convention Centre.

With the theme ‘Delivering Growth; Creating Opportunity; Embracing Technology’ AusRAIL PLUS 2019 brought industry leaders and key stakeholders together to focus on the implications and opportunities of the growing investment in new rail in Australia and New Zealand – now forecast to exceed $150 billion over the next 15 years.

“With growing populations in Australia and New Zealand, it has become more important that we get better at moving passengers to relieve congestion in our cities, improve our freight supply chains and better connect our cities and regions,” said Australian Railways Association (ARA) CEO Danny Broad.

“Well-planned and executed rail is a crucial part of a multi-modal transport solution,” he said.

AusRail PLUS 2019 was an important platform for LIBERTY Primary Steel to demonstrate the contribution its range of high-quality, Australian Standards-compliant and independently certified rail, sleepers and rail products are making to this rapidly developing nation-building infrastructure.

The AusRAIL PLUS conference was the largest-ever event of its kind, with over 7500 industry leaders, stakeholders and professionals participating in the conference program. The program focused on training initiatives to address immediate challenges, planning for future workforce trends, and how rail can make cities liveable, connect our regions, reduce carbon emissions and support employment.

The conference was supported by over 400 exhibitors, including LIBERTY Primary Steel.

Brenton Marcinkowski, LIBERTY Primary Steel’s Market Manager Rail Products said: “We were showcasing LIBERTY’s range of rail products, including steel sleepers, the Trak-Lok® fastening system and rail to current customers, constructors, industry peers and conference delegates from all over the world.

“AusRAIL is an important opportunity to demonstrate not just our product range, but our ability to collaborate and innovate to meet the demands of Australia’s rapidly developing rail infrastructure sector,” he said.

LIBERTY Primary Steel produces both Plain Carbon and Head Hardened rails in a range of sizes suitable for the Australasian rail market, along with Trak-Lok® Steel Sleeper Systems incorporating the Trak-Lok® resilient fastening system at its Whyalla Steelworks in South Australia.
